Backlinks are one of those things where quality counts much more than quantity. A site is much better off having half a dozen high domain authority (DA) backlinks than it is a hundred or even a thousand low-quality or toxic backlinks.

However, our backlinks are from very high domain authority sites, so given there is consistent, high quality with our backlinks, more will generally have a greater impact.

How much of an impact?

The impact of high DA backlinks is difficult to quantify into numbers because the effect they will have depends upon numerous cofactors:

  1. How old is your website’s domain name?
  2. How much quality content does your site have?
  3. Do you have a well-maintained blog?
  4. Is your website mobile friendly?
  5. Does your website have loading problems?

These and many other factors ultimately weigh into the equation of how much of an impact some high DA links will have. Having said that, if all variables are equal between two websites, backlinks can have a profound effect, moving sites up in rankings not only quickly but generally by a huge amount.

A good rule of thumb is to look at your key competitors and aim to build at least the same amount of high quality backlinks as they are each month. If you need help accessing that information – please reach out to us and the team will happily provide.
